Alpine 12 Dual Voice Coil 4 Ohm Subwoofer Black

This sub woofer is heavy in weight, but also heavy in sound. This is a very capable bass speaker that pumps out bass like there's no tomorrow, as the saying goes. The specs say max power is 3000 watts, 1000 watts rms, into 2 ohms. I purchased one from, car audio centre, in Birmingham. I found the staff there, both helpful and friendly. If you want a sub that throws out heavy bass, then check out the Alpine SWR-12D4.

Been amazing sound in my merc, base all round especially when seats are folded. Which box gives it better quality though, coz am using ported one!

  I want to purchase 1 sub what is better 2 ohm or 4 ohm and what amp should I get to go with

  Answer:
  if really depends on the amplifier, the dual 2 will demand more power as most amps aren't stable to run 1 ohm, unless you go for a good mono block amplifier.

  if you run an amplifier in 2 ohm its normally more efficient, so really it depends one what amplifier you buy if you went for something like the following you could use either subwoofer

Hi, would this sub work well in my car with the IPA2001d? Also does it matter what stero I get/speakers/tweeters?

hi

The sub would work but i personally would use the inphase powerdrive as i think they can handle power better
stereo and speaker choice is all personal preferance you don't really have to match everything up
a stereo with a dedicated sub preout is what i would mainly recomend

av got a GM-D9601 pioneer amp,will it push this amp or is it gonna struggle.which is the best box for it,ported or enclosed?

Good Morning,

The amp which you have will not run the sub to its full potential.

As a suggestion look at the IPA-2001D, this will run the sub really well.

As for the box, it will need to be a slot ported box. TREX 12 Slot ported box.

hi there yes this amp will work fine on its mono bass channel. this amp is a 5 channel amp so the 5th channel will be the only one to use on this amp.

I bought this and it has been in my car for about 2 weeks now. I've never played it full volume and the sub already has a small crack on it. what should I do it? says It says it has 1 year warranty??

Answer:
one year warranty will only cover manufacturing faults i wouldn't cover a crack to the main cone as that would only be possible if something was pushing against the cone as the subwoofer is playing
